Product · Attendance

The day, as it actually happened.

ontime collects punches from biometric machines, the mobile app and the web console, then reconciles them into one timeline per employee per day — with the proof attached and the disagreements flagged.

Written for: the payroll owner who rebuilds attendance in Excel every month-end

How it works

What actually happens, step by step.

01

Capture, with the evidence attached

Punches arrive from biometric devices, the mobile app and the web console. A mobile punch is checked against the site's geofence and carries a selfie; every punch keeps its source and its location.

Reconcile into one timeline

The sources collapse into a single day. Two of them inside 90 seconds is a conflict, and it is flagged rather than quietly resolved — the machine does not get to pick a winner.

Hold what a human should see

An off-zone punch waits for review with its map and its photo. So does a missing punch-out. These become regularizations, routed to the manager, with anything still pending after 48 hours surfaced as aged.

Hand the day to payroll

The reconciled timeline is what the payroll cycle reads. Earned days, LOP and overtime all derive from it, so attendance and payroll cannot tell two different stories about the same month.

What makes ours different

The parts that hold up under scrutiny.

Every punch keeps its proof

A mobile punch carries its GPS fix and a selfie. A biometric punch carries its device. The evidence travels with the record, so a dispute is answered by opening the day, not by rebuilding it.

Conflicts surface in seconds, not at month-end

Two sources inside 90 seconds is flagged the moment the second one lands. You find out on the 14th, while someone still remembers the 14th.

The timeline is the record payroll reads

Payroll does not re-derive attendance from a spreadsheet. It reads the same reconciled day you are looking at, which is why the two can never disagree.

Questions

What people ask before they commit.

What happens when someone punches outside the geofence?

The punch is captured and held for review rather than silently accepted or dropped. A human sees the map and the photo and decides. Nothing auto-approves.

Do holidays still count against someone's pay?

No. A holiday with no punch reconciles as Holiday rather than Absent, so payroll's LOP count does not debit it.

Can we correct a bad punch after the fact?

Yes — as a regularization. It is routed to the manager, keeps its reason and evidence, and anything still pending after 48 hours is surfaced as aged. The original punch is never overwritten silently; the audit log keeps both.
